Review #6: KRS ONE-SOUND OF DA POLICE.

This is song is a pure classic, showing off Hip-Hops conscious and clinical side there is no doubt that this song would not cause contraversy. The meaning of this song stands for the african american people who were and still are being targeted by the police force because of their colour. I believe this song is still relatable to what the police do even to this day it still happens, that is why i feel that this song is so ahead of its time. The lyrics are phenomenal and basically explains what the government and police force do being closed doors whilst showing a massive middle finger to their face because of how they treat the african american society. My favourite lyrics of this song are; “Take the word overseer, like a sample, Repeat it very quickly in a crew, for example, overseer, overseer, overseer, overseer, overseer, officer, officer, officer, yea officer from overseer, You need a little clarity, Check the similarity” in these lyrics Krs is comparing an overseer (which is or was a slave controller) to a modern day police officer because of the way he feel his african american people get treated, i do agree with this due to documentaries, videos, songs and films

The instrumental to this song is another class, The snare and bass fit perfectly to create a vicious beat which goes with the song. One of my favourite instrumentals.
